Breve Diálogo Entre Minha Consciência e Eu

Grandes Feitos da Nação Brasileira

No ano de 1500, nesse mesmo dia, descobria-se o Brasil. Anos se passaram, colônia em Império se transformou, e Império em República acabou. Mas qual a importância do Brasil para a grande História da Humanidade? Pode-se dizer que é grande. Analisemos dois fatos que isso comprovam:

a) Entre 1630 e 1654 ocorreu no nordeste brasileiro a II Invasão Holandesa. Durante parte desse período, a região invadida teve como governador geral o Conde de Nassau. Seu governo foi marcado pelo desenvolvimento cultural de Olinda, que contou nesse período com a afluxo de intelectuais e inclusive de judeus, devido à tolerância religiosa do governo nessa época. Entretanto, com a reconquista portuguesa, tal efervescência foi dissipada, e, com isso, a intolerância religiosa voltou ao seu ponto anterior às Invasões. Dessa forma, os judeus lá estabelecidos tiveram que encontrar outro local nas Américas para se fixar. O local encontrado foi uma ilha entre os atuais Rios East e Hudson. Lá foi fundada uma cidade com o nome de Nova Amsterdã. A ilha é a ilha de Manhattan, a cidade a de Nova Iorque. Conclusão: a fundação da cidade central do século XX tem como origem a história brasileira.

b) A mineração de ouro nos séculos XVII e XVIII, na região das Minas Gerais é lendária. Mas para onde todo o ouro se dirigia? Primeiramente, para a metrópole: Portugal. Entretanto, Portugal possuia déficit comercial com a Inglaterra, e o ouro das Minas Gerais para a última se dirigia. Assim, pode-se dizer que o Brasil foi o principal país que contribuiu para a acumulação de capitais na Inglaterra. Essa acumulação inglesa de capitais foi fator decisivo para que a Revolução Industrial ocorresse na Inglaterra. Conclusão: o Brasil financiou a Revolução Industrial. Não é necessário enfatizar a importância histórica da Revolução Industrial.

The Magnificent Four

Joe Strummer + Mick Jones + Paul Simonon + Topper Headon = The Clash. É impressionante, apenas quatro pessoas. O Clash é uma banda que realmente é FODA. Ouço, ouço e ouço, sempre tem algo de novo, um detalhe que da última vez passou despercebido. Aliás, essa é a pricipal característica das minha bandas preferidas: as interpretações são infinitas. Não importa o estilo, pode ser no punk rock ou no rock progressivo, sempre há bandas que não possuem fim na profundidade de suas músicas e que possuem uma marca única, que as separa de todo o resto, o Clash é uma delas. Essas bandas entram pra história.

Não queria mencionar isso, mas, aparentemente, a morte de Strummer vai ficar entalada por um bom tempo.

WOOO-HOOOOO

Depois de um bom tempo, o site da Brian Setzer Orchestra volta ao ar. Meio tosco, mas de volta ao ar. E volta trazendo ótimas notícias: dia 5 de julho, no festival Hootenanny 2003 uma das mais lendárias bandas de rockabilly volta a se apresentar: os Stray Cats!!!

Aparentemente é apenas para esse show, mas a esperança é a última que morre.

Ainda há salvação para a música.
